The black spur is a good run for twisty stuff and usually not too crowded.

Yep, l'll second that, its a great drive. The Marysville bakery is also excellent.

l would be interested in an overnight run, but would prefer to do it late in the year when the weather is on the improve. What length of drive would people be looking for? l personally love Merimbula and really enjoy the drive from Bairnsdale on, but it may be a bit far

There are many places one could go. If you are after the twists then drive down to warburton past east warburton then onto the reefton spur. up lake mountain then back down to Marysville. Plenty of BBQ/Picnic options. There are BBQ's at the top of lake mountain and a good bakery in Marysville.

I thought it was taken for granted that one would come back towards Melb via the black spur on this run hence haveing the best of all worlds. Possible meeting place Ringwood, Maccas nth croydon, lilydale. Ringwood might be the best for those who don't know this area because more people would recognise this name.

got stuck for the full distance behind an old diesel Landcruiser dragging a trailer last Thursday ....

some great places up there ... we got a few acres between Alexandra and Eildon and do the trip very often

and there are always the wineries in the Yarra Valley :woahidea:

I was at Mt Baw Baw yesterday and it was a great drive to get there once you get off the hwy for about 60km, including some tight twisty stuff where I just held second gear for ages. BIG carpark at the top but we would prolly have to bring our own BBQ, but I'm sure that can be arranged!

A very good mate of mine actually lives & works on Mt Baw Baw. I am sure that he would not have any issue hooking us up with a BBQ. Its a nice drive too. but would need to go soon, before weather gets to cold and chains are required though. Plenty of exciting roadsup that way though.

Got a friend who will be picking up his "T" next week and is eager to join the site and also come along for this cruise. I think it is time for someone to make some decisions about this. I am happy to go along with whatever the majority decides.

Yeh Brendan,I will try to fit in with whatever is organised, so prob need to reduce route to 1 or 2 and set 1 or 2 dates with maybe a poll or something I guess.

Cheers Rob

Can we keep a centralised metro-ish meeting location in mind as us Geelong-ians will have to come up if you guys aren't going to zip down thru Geelong..

Hope that makes sense... :Welcome2FordXR6t:
