There's a good Typhoon article in the latest Wheels magazine, no new info but interesting reading all the same.

The wheels are growing on me...slowly!

I reckon it will be the XR8 5 spd, dunno about auto, probably stay the same.

Six speed may come out in BA2 GT or they may choose to save it for next model. Probably the latter actaullay. Don't hear anything about V8 gearboxes having probs so why upgrade just for the sake of it?

I bet Ford will not put in a special gearbox in the F6 as it will cost a hell of alot of money to engineer this for a limited run car. My bet is they will keep the standard T5 and wear the warranty claims, at best you may see the XR8 manual, but I read somewhere it was going to cost $14mill to make the changes to use the XR8 box.

Looks like FPV where tight lipped about the manual box. Interesting how they said they upgraded it but didn't want to say what. Oh well only time will tell.

My dealer told me at the Perth motor show yesterday that it is definately the Tremec from the GT, suits me fine I think its a great box. I also think it will be even better when I throw a Herrod short shifter on it.

Why would it cost so much?

Mal Wood seams to be able to slot Mustang T56s into XR6's without too many drama's - Perhaps these would be a better option?

The T3650 from the XR8 etc doe snot mate to the inline 6. That is why we have the T5 in the first place. It was going to be VERY expensive to make this happen (well, someone suggested $14 million).

Maybe if they have fixed this, it might be an option to fit the XR8 gearbox to the T using Typhoon bits... Let the mods begin then.
