By doing frequency sweeps you can as certain 2 resonate frequencies. One will be the resonatee frequency of the car nad the other will be the resonate frequency of the Sun/box. I have found that most cars resonate frequency is around 60-65Hz. This is then what you tune your port frequency to. To gain 3 db in any sub system. You have to either double the power going to the 1 sub. Or add another sub (Same type) running at the same power to gain 3 db. But!! There is another way to gain 3 Db that is completely free. It is called woofer loading. Here is a simpple test for you... Go to your home system and turn it on at a reasonable level. listen to it and themn turn the speaker around to face the wall leaving about a 6 inch gap between wooofer and wall. Hear the difference. Like I said earlier. this will gain you 3 Db. Loading a woofer into 2 surfaces. Such as loading it at 45 into a surface (eg floor and wall) will gain you 6 db. I have to go to work.
