give me a month or two and I'll have my Alpine system in.

I've found a guy who is able to make pre-outs for the existing premium sound head unit to be able to control amps without using line input selectors.

I'll post my results and pictures as soon as that's done.

my plans are so far:

5 1/4" type-r splits in front doors running off a Alpine MRVT320 (2x80wrms)

6" type-r Co-ax's in the rear tray running off a sony 222 amp (2x45wrms)

2x Alpine Type-r DVC 12"s running off a Alpine MRD-500 (1x500wrms) box facing backwards into the boot ported through premo subwoofer hole.

1x Stinger Digi Capacitor

the amps will be mounting in the spare tyre well bit in the boot where it caves down with a false floor built around it.

should be good when it's done... :)

No nothing like this in a ute that I have been able to see ...

I just went with a simple single 12" Eclipse system and it goes nice. Is this a show car ? I like the trim to the roof.

Utes have the optional pass. airbag ...

KAL have you got it set up so the cover can be put back on so as to hide the dvd and keep the sun off ? Good anti-theft as well - out of sight. That is my plan.

Nice work! PICS!

Cheers,

B.

The original panel does not go back over as the new piece is made to be flush and flowing with the dash , however the dash mat has a removable piece that we stapled like a hinge to and it covers it.

and trust me there was NO AIRBAG , Im not dumb enough to play around with them , I was scared enough removing a seat.

The sub is a Pioneer 5000SPL , the biggest sub they make and is worth $2,500 and is good for 5000watts , so far it has made a best of 149.6Db , I sits behind driver and fires into the B pillar.

Holly crap that is a big sub. I hope you duck when that bloody thing fires. :spacey:

I wonder if anyone has ever checked to see if these very loud systems lower the tensile strength of steel on a molecular level ?

Question to the people that use the factory system and use high level inputs . . . how does it sound bass wise ?? I have done an XR8 with 2 12s only to find that the bass is crap , I figure the head unit has a high pass filter built in to protect the factory speakers. Another ute I have done with factory deck and 4 aftermarket speakers with new 4 channel amp absolutely cranked althouhg no sub in this system. Anyone had the same experience ?

The premium sound comes with its own crappy Sub. You might find it has a separate output just for the sub.

They are very large sub indeed...5000 Watt RMS may be a bit of an ask though!

What size box are you running them in

Do you have any of the technical specs? Ie the Thiele-Small Parameters? Things to look for are Qes, Qms, Fs, F3, Vas etc.If you could PM them to me or post them it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Brendan

Its not 5000rms but 5000 max , 2500 rms and of those 3 big amps 2 are used to run the sub making 3000rms. Box is bout 48L which is to small but Im sure you can tell that space is limited to say the least.

Specs can be found on Pioneer website if you want details bout the sub.
