It feels as though the timing is retarding and definitely does not give full power. In the last three days I have used two tanks of Mobil Synergy 8000 from Quix @ Eastern Creek and I get full power to 6000rpm. It is definitely better and feels like brand new again.I clocked up 30,000 on the way home tonight so am due for a service. That should make a difference a well. I would agree with your findings.I generally use Mobil 8000 because it is convenient to where I live and have found it to be consistantly as good as or better than Optimax, but I think this comes down to the fuel going off.I have found Caltex Vortex (96 Ron) to be better than BP Ultimate (supposedly 98 ).This is my experience over a couple of years , mainly with my AUII XR8 which was very fuel sensitive. I have found Mobil to be the best for performance & mileage the Caltex.

The end result was Optimax came of the worst and BP got the green light. All of this was comparing how the bikes ran using the different fuels. And from the dyno testing we have conducted on many xr6t engines the Shell Optimax and Mobil 98 ron synergy are clearly superior to any other premium unleaded fuel in the eastern states. I have been buying the Safeway premium because in my older age am becoming a bit of a tight arse. I do get the occasional flat spot and with Shell at the next corner I will give Optimax a go.Cheers
