Hey guys does anyone have any info on the weight differences between a Fully optioned T and a T with no options.

Oh and also does the 18" alloy weigh less then the steel spare that comes standard??

I'm not sure what the weight differences are between optioned up and standard but don't believe what ford states as the standard weight because it'll be different, mine was. I'm quite sure that the steel rims weight less than the 18's.

Ive got a alloy 17in in stock, fitted with a 225 tyre, ill go weigh it! I know its not a 18, but its as good as I got. At least we will get some sort of idea.

Ill also grab a steelie spare out of something and go weigh it too!

Allrighty then!

Steel spare wheel out of a Phantom XR6T =23kgs

Fairmont wheel fitted with a 225/60/ZR17 tyre (I think!) = 24kgs.

Not much in it!

I cant see a 18in wheel weighing much more than the Fairmont wheel.

Hope this helps! :smilielol:

Just out of curiosity I'd be interested to see what one of your 19s weighs up at. When you go home tonight take one of your wheels off and bring it into work, weigh it and let us know will you mate! While you're at it, maybe you can weigh some of the panels, always wanted to know what a door, guard, bonnet and bootlid weighs. Be sure to compare an XR8 bonnet to XR6 one and a XR6 bootlid with spoiler to a XT one without spoiler. Do you reckon you could have all this done by 10am pls Mick, I've go to go to smoko then and would like to share these facts and figures with my co-workers. : :smilielol:

Mick how much spare time do you have?

I tried to say to my boss I wanted to go weigh my wheel and he looked at me funny

If you happen to come across some more spare time whats the weight of the leather vs trim?

Trumpy, What's going on with this forum? It was only made in gest and humor hence the icons. I thought it fantastic that ms700 had actually taken the time to go and find out the information, this is why this forum has previously been so good, with people like that prepared to go the extra mile and in particular share the information with fellow members.

It seems that as of recently it's just turning into how people can attack other members, with people forgetting what the basis of this is all about.

Especially with you as a moderator, I thought you would understand and set the precedent.

Regards

Jonathan.
