Guest ByeSS Guests Posted 29/03/04 11:15 AM Share Posted 29/03/04 11:15 AM Thanks for the pic GlennXR6T.Is the intercooler integrated with the turbo unit, or separate? The small air intake above the front grille that I thought was for the intercooler seems to go directly into the air cleaner...Sounds like I need to come along to a meeting or cruise and talk to some of you who have been tinkering with cars for many years, to find out more. Thanks to everyone who replied!Struan Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/9859-identifying-things-under-the-bonnet/page/2/#findComment-106245 Share on other sites
ZAP No boost, no bottle, just my foot on the throttle! The air intake you mentioned is for the intake air and is Fords attempt at cold air induction. The intake of air might be 25c at the airfilter, but would be like 70c before the intercooler and then 40c after it. the cooler the air the denser it is and the better it is. This is why you need a big intercooler when running higher boost as the air is heated more the higher the boost.
