Guest ByeSS Guests Posted 28/03/04 08:36 AM Share Posted 28/03/04 08:36 AM When it comes to identifying the components under the bonnet of the new XR6T, I have no idea! When showing family and friends I'd like to be able to point out where the main components are and how they work together. I can identify the turbo unit (with 'Garrett' on it, right?), but can only guess at the location of the intercooler etc. etc.Anyway, has anyone seen a graphic or photo of the bonnet layout of the XR6T, with descriptions of the components? The service manual seems like it would be overkill, and the owners manual has only very basic user servicing information...Thanks,- StruanP.S. Still looking for any excuse to go for a drive in this thing!

"yup...its an engine.....it makes it go forward...back....and if I'm feeling upto it....LEFT AND RIGHT!! OMG!!!" :lol:When I picked mine up I got told "yellow is what you can touch...everything else...leave to us"....I'll go along with that for now. Guest aNaRcHiSt Guests Posted 28/03/04 09:14 PM Share Posted 28/03/04 09:14 PM does anyone actually know how much it boosts standard? I wonder if anyone has ever changed their turbo, maybe a hks would look nice under there, is the intercooler front mounted or under the hood with a scoop on the bonnet? (I haven't seen the turbo version in real life)

(I haven't seen the turbo version in real life) Around 5-6lb only.No need to change turbo for quite a while, as it is quite large, rated around 650hp, which translates to around 487kw at flywheel, or around 430rwkw.IC is a front mounted Garrett, not very large, and this needs replacing for serious power upgrades.Brian

Where the hell are the spark plugs, coils and leads? I am assuming they have the plugs in between the two camshafts and hidden underneath the black cover Y/N??? And if so, where are the coils mounted? Most other bits I have found. Not that I need to find the spark plugs, I would just like to know where all the bits are. The spark plugs and coils are all found under that black cover on the top of the motor. This setup is called coil on plug design and each plug has it's own separate coil mounted on top of it. This eliminates all those ugly long coil leads running aroung the engine bay, plus reduces electrical losses.
