One of the things that I hear a lot is the

"Do you know who I am?"

Usually from first grade Rugby League players, local Councillors, media 'stars', movie wannabee's, 'rock' legends etc

This one St George first grader was stopped by me for a speed. He did the "do you know who I am" and I replied, knowing full well who it was, saying " Yes your license says you are Anthony M***** from -inserts suburb-, I won;t keep you too long"

Anyway he was in his car fuming etc, I returned, handed him the TIN explaining the disposal options and he snatched the ticket from me. I said "have a good day, and by the way, I don't follow Rugby league nor do I like St George"

Usually whenever I get the "Do you know who I am" and they are really obnoxious they sometimes get the reply " Of course, now I know who you are...I saw you on the news walking out of the Supreme Court the other day after the paedophile trial. Didn't you get convicted?" or "Let me think.....are you the guy that was at the Hospital the other day having a gerbil removed from you nether regions?"

Now of course, I will only give it back as good as I get it, and usually there is no fun playing a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

Have a good day :)

"You think you're tuff, wait 'til I see you off duty and I'll kick your arse"

and I reply " Well don't let fear stop you, you can do it now if you'd like"

plonky Your lucky your not in Melb, one night while l was working in a night club there was trouble with a few guys, this one guy had the same argument with the cop, and you know what?? the copper got he ass kicked real bad..... and l dont wish this on anyone.

I know what you're saying but quite frankly, after my bike accident, I have no fear of being hurt anymore.

The thing is that generally when things like that are said the person making it is making his excuse at the same time.

What they do realise as well is that if they did belt you then sooner or later they will be charged and it's pretty hard to live a normal life when you are know to everybody at the Police Station as the person that belted a copper.

I'm certainly not afraid of getting belted, it's just a fact of life.

once got pulled over in the truck on the f3 (speed limited to 100 k's) on a dead level section by a dipsh*t sarge who insisted I was doing 120 k's.It was in the days of the slant where the operator would radio ahead to the "others" and they would pull u in.I saw the guys about 500 metres ahead but as I knew I was'nt speeding drove straight past.Well,2 or 3 kays later here he comes flashing lights and carrying on so I pulls over-"whats up mate" I says- to which he replies" I am not your f*ckin mate"mmm!

He goes on to say that I was signalled to stop-why didnt I?

He goes on to say 120 in a 100 zone.I said it wasnt me ,the truck is limited, and his attitude was --see you in court! I proceded to call him a nazi f*ckwit, dickhead. All he could say was "keep it up mate" so I did.He wrote my details in his pad and said he would mail me the fine cause the book was back with the rest of the "gestapo"

When I got going I did a u turn and went back to where the slant operator was to vent a little more anger and to find out y he called me at 120. As I pulled up the supersarge also pulled up and says" I thought that was u going back the other way!Dont lose any sleep I pulled over the wrong truck-I should have got the blue curtain sider in front of u"

No appoligy or nothing from this flip of a cop- but I did feel better after my slagging match with him

I remember getting slapped around a few times by coppers years ago due to the smart ass vocabulary I used when being questioned. Took a while to learn to show the fellas some respect....... It has worked though, have talked my way out of a few fines by being polite, courteous and respectful mixed with a bit of bullsh1t.
