Guest Guests Posted 18/02/03 09:26 PM Share Posted 18/02/03 09:26 PM cjfo77 you can get a replica from3k to 15k a gt would start at 20k and would be a roughie. I got my xy 351 clevo fmx , for 3k not bad condition, since have added c4 box shift kit, extractors,bm shifter,shaker,9 inch lsd etc it would be cheaper to get a repo with all that done unless u like to play. I take mine to mallala race way with ford club , and yes it is fun. looks like I get my bus on friday and yes it to will go to mallala

I went to look at it with a mate who was thinking of buying it and decided it was too rough for the money. It was Diamond White with the gold stripes, paint was about 5yo but in VGC. Interior was in good cond, dash was only GS not GT (tacho only went to 600rpm). Engine was rebuilt 2V CC 351C but went like a tired snail, gearbox was toploader (you reckon T5s are notchy, try a Toploader!) and diff was 3.0 9" LSD. Engine bay and boot area were rough, needed repainting. Underneath was just your average 30yo Falcon, certainly no show pony. It would probably cost more than $11K to build one up but that's not the point IMO.Years ago I had an XY GT replica myself, Yellow Glow baked enamel paint, Simmons wheels, toploader, 9" LSD, new interior etc etc and I reckon it was in better condition than this white XY and all I could get for it was $8500. I had to sell it to put a deposit on a house.
Guest Guests Posted 18/02/03 10:47 PM Share Posted 18/02/03 10:47 PM falchoon its allways the story pay top dollar sell for sweet fa. I paid 12k for a true-blue repo and could only sell it for 6k. (must admit I stole the 9" diff out of it.)

I would rather spend the 25 on a genuine and fix it up.. because once it's all said and done .. one is genuine and the other isn't.
Guest HOTXR6 Guests Posted 21/02/03 12:52 PM Share Posted 21/02/03 12:52 PM Hi CJF,Man, go the Original. Nothing beats that and yes you pay heaps more but you get what you pay for. One thing that I really dispise with HO's etc is when people modify them as it destroys what they are about. :hiwelcome: If you want to do mods, go the replica. Here is an email address that will help you in your search. Ford GT Owners Club - Email fgtocnsw@hotmail.comHOTXR6
