Just thought I'd ask about something that scared the crap out of me on the weekend.

I pulled up at one of my mates places at 5 am on sunday morning to be greeted by 2 police officers. Normally not a problem. Apparently one of the neighbours called in that they were disturbed by a lot of cars pulling up and taking off making noise when I took off to take some of my friends home being the usual designated driver. Funnily enough I only left once and returned in 10 minutes.

The police officers were pretty good explaining why they were called out and asked what we planned to do to rectify the situation. I explained what our side was and they seemed pretty happy that we were being quiet.

One thing that they did point out though, was that when I got out of the car, I was only wearing socks. Why I dont know but I do remember something bad about not having shoes on whilst driving. Is this an offence for one, and two what is normally the penality?

Thanks,

ChrisP

There's a bit or grey area! Is it legal to drive bare foot? I think it's OK?!?!

Wearing socks, yes that is a chargeable offence, may be wrong?!?!

I think you should ring up Carl Scully, tell him that you were wearing socks whilst driving a car and expect to be placed into the stocks and pelted by Anti-War-Socialist Alliance-My ABC etc protestors.

This break down in driver standards is atrocious and you should be stipped of a drivers license and after being pelted withslogans from the aformentioned protestors, you should be forced to tarvel by train for the next couple of years...

because after all

Carl Scully is not longer the Transport Minister

Michael Costa is :)

Yeah, sox (especially with garters holding them up), a white business shirt and boxer shorts is not really hip driving attire and would definately rate a mention by our fashion concious constablary?

Plonky or VG, If you get cought driving in a transit or bus lane do you lose points??

I think this is a question for Officer Ponch

Hey there man, you driving in the bus lane again?

Transit Lanes operate between times (signposted) and the Lane (T3/T4) etc means you can travel in the lane if you have the number of people in the car specified by the Sign post - T3 is self explanatory

You can travel in a bus lane......if you're in a bus

If I remember a bus is more than 12 metres and seats 20 + (I actually don't do bus stuff so I'm going off memory here...which I think is pretty poor)

Yes you lose points :)
