not even scrap-metal value? :P surely milkshaked ones can be rebuilt with new clutches etc?

Yeah you'd get scrap :nutkick:

You can rebuild a stuffed trans but then you're up for a rebuild which cost more than a second hand trans

who'd bother paying to "rebuild" it to OEM level, they'd always be upgrading in the process... so you'd have a better than OEM one :P cheaper than a "built" box, probably, as they have to disassemble and re-assemble a normal "built" one :P

if @Puffwagon can find you his $700 link, he should be able to backtrack on his "dreaming" statement, based on evidence...:P  but of course, you could always find somebody else who's willing to sell it for a reasonable price.

Haha old mate will go to the grave with his $3200 trans lol.

Here's the $700 ono trans

You could also just use a na trans up to 300rwkw or so, provided it was tuned.

Here's a whole ass conversion minus tailshaft.

I’m seeing a lot more NA wrecks come up. So I’d be pretty safe getting a ZF box out of an NA FG XR6 then? I don’t anticipate major mods on this car, maybe some basic stuff like injectors, cat and a tune.
