Some have a high degree of mechanical skill and some don't. How long is a piece of string? You have the stuff in front of you, go and have a look. You can buy a boost control harness to splice into the 2 plug loom that will make it a 3 plug loom. Maybe this is more up your alley https://baysideautomotivewiring.com.au/products/barra-factory-boost-control-loom-ba-bf

I've also heard from a friend who vaguely said that id need to switch the key reader, immobiliser and possibly a module near the key reader. is this all correct? kcartere New Member 14 Member For: 5m 5d Posted 20/06/24 09:00 AM Author Share Posted 20/06/24 09:00 AM I Just had a read and cant say id be fully confident trying to figure that out myself even with that forum considering I really don't have much if any experience with anything tuning or anything like this . What exactly will it affect if I do or don't do it? Is it only changing the turbo to spool how later model BF and FGs do and if so why is that necessary? It's not the end of the world if you don't do it. Yeah look there's a lot to learn with cars etc, all I can say is keep reading and perhaps try a tuning course from HPA, if you want to learn the basics. kcartere New Member 14 Member For: 5m 5d Posted 20/06/24 09:29 AM Author Share Posted 20/06/24 09:29 AM yeah okay if its something I can do down the line and won't cost me an engine then I might go that way. And for the tuning course would they take people who aren't 18 yet? I don't really care if I had to wait but that sounds like something id be interested in. And just back to the question about the engine harness if you were in my shoes would you bother trying to fit the BA harness to the BF or just splice the boost control in? If I wanted to save money I would swap looms. I don't see why you couldn't sign up with them, have a look hpacademy
kcartere New Member 14 Member For: 5m 5d Posted 20/06/24 10:15 AM Author Share Posted 20/06/24 10:15 AM If I splice it will I still need to add another knock sensor to the back to suit the rest of the BF loom? and just to get it straight I'm only gonna have to put in the motor, splice or change the harness and then change the ecu before using the forscan tool to link the ecu to the car and that's it? there's no further tuning or modifications need doing? I'm aware of a few small things like the horn needs to be moved and one of the power steering cooler hoses is in the way but other than that is there anything else I'm missing?
