Looked at the dyno today, was gonna use it but the weather has been so hot lately, I didn't want to stress the car out.

Might get jiggy wid it tomorrow 😎

So I've been keeping an eye out for parts deals and I've collected a few parts, all for about 35% of new price.

Yeah I know this is a XR6 turbo forum but considering I'm learning LS stuff, I'm gonna post about it.

I got a set of extractors and high flow cats, a hectic cam that's had less than 10 hours work, a set of new in the box valve springs and have been offered a LSD with 3.7 diff gears.

I will get it on the dyno shortly, probably next week, I'm hoping for around 350rwkw but will see how it goes.

After I do my car I'll be upgrading a mates car, so will report back on how it all goes. Looking forward to learning new things and helping others get fully fledged custom tunes, whether Barra or LS based.

Still happy to do free tunes for a select few forum members ;)

Fitted extractors and cats today, was too hot but oh well. Will chuck it on the dyno when the weather cools down a bit. Car feels better and sounds heaps better so there will be some sorta increase :declare:

@Puffwagon merry christmas, im taking sump off fgx to reseal it hopefully properly this time, I dont want to do it again. So im gonna support motor from the top with my frame I made and drop the front subframe. Question is can I successfully remove and re-seal the sump back on with the zf still bolted to motor? Is Threebond 1215 grey still the go-to sealant or should I use hondabond or something else? Should I replace the halfmoon seal on the front of sump, I cant recall if theres a half moon seal at the back?? Im gonna make some threaded studs to thread into block to make the sump re-install way easier this time. Thanks

Merry Xmas too, I use super grey, replace both seals, use too much silicone, better than not enough, it's all done with the engine and trans in place and there is a longitudinal clearance to adhere to with the sump and block, look it up. The manual will show you how to do it.

Loving driving the WM Caprice now, I decreased the shift timing and it loves it, the new tune is night and day difference, who would have thought 15rwkw could make that much difference?! Can't wait for my hectic cam to arrive, it'll be sick. My mate has also ordered cam and other parts for his LS3 powered WN, I'll get it all done when he's ready.

Here's a photo of my BF MK2 XR6 turbo that I still own, just in case anyone thinks I ain't got a spot for the turbo Barras ;)

Installed a VCM16 cam into the Caprice, installed some hectic valve springs, Torrington 3 bolt cam gear and got to tuning. Also replaced the AC bracket for an updated version cos it was slinging the belt every time I got on it.

It made 306rwk, up from 220rwkw from the first time I ran it. Spend just under $2k for the parts and tuning credits and obviously did the work l and tuning myself.

I haven't updated the vehicle info on the dyno sheet and have only done preliminary tuning. It won't make any more power up top but it will make more power down low. I haven't done much in the way of low and medium load ignition tuning and I'm sure there's heaps on the table. I've got the fuel extremely close to ideal and it drives awesome considering it's got a stock converter. I just need to work on the start up airflow, as it's quite different than the barra stuff. Same principle but a 3d time based table to tune, vs the barra 2d table.

Anyway here's a dyno sheet, might get another one, might do an overlay, we'll see. I've noticed a lot of workshops start the run at 70kph vs the 45 that I have. Tuning secret here...start the run at a higher speed to show a higher number at the bottom of the graph.

I'll post some barra stuff whenever someone brings me a barra lol ;)
