Yea I was told about the limitations of the BA motor. Which is why im limiting myself to pushing to 300kw at this stage. I would look at strengthen the motor eventually if I wanted to push for more. Appreciate everyone's suggestions, il talk with the shop more about whether I really need the BTR built as its quite a chunk of the total cost and if its really not that needed and be ok with just an external cooler. Il pop in a guage as well to monitor the temps to hopefully avoid popping the box.

Also, you should think about engine failure on a BA motor ;) budget for that happening at 300rwkw+

You really think this is likely to occur? I have seen quite a few people reach more then that on the stock engine for BA and last quite a while.

yeah, I'm not saying it's likely to happen, but it might, so budget for it then you won't be (as) disappointed if it happens.

Stock Ford FG MkII XR6T ute with 180,000km on the clock.

Replaced the exhaust with a Manta Turbo back 2.5" stainless dual system & K&N Filter in the stock airbox.

NO other modifications done.

Left with the tuner in the morning with an estimated 220 rwkw, picked up from the tuner in the afternoon with 304 rwkw.

This is a daily driver.

yeah; nah. that's not it... 300kw at the rear wheels is basically impossible with the stock injectors in an XR6T; there was probably some dyno fudging happening there; no big deal... also not relevant to this thread as it's about a BA motor and ancillaries combination + minor modifications.

converting to ethanol will gain more power with less stress and will be a lot easier on the BA motor if you're in a location that has it available. Bigger injectors will be needed as more volume is required than unleaded, as well as upgraded fuel lines as ethanol will eat the standard ones. but most of the way they're steel anyway so no biggie. BTRs are able to be built now to handle a lot more power than they used to. Mine was warrantied to 400RWKW
