Scotty, Definately the latest - mine already had the previous Cals up to date back in Feb and I was apparently one of the first to get the new Cal update flashed as I had been complaining big time to FMC and the dealer about the poor transmission and was told to hang on for these latest calibration updates as it had this fix plus many others associated with it.

I'm saying this very cautiously, with fingers & toes crossed - whilst still not perfect it now feels more like the new car, which I should have had exactly a year ago!

For the price of a phone call it wouldn't hurt to see if that's is right, you never know. Lots of people have been waiting for it & only received it within the last 2 weeks, what date did you get yours?

10th March 04 - service docket says that the PCM was updated from cal 3R23-12A650-HH to 3R23-12A650-HJ Presume the HJ bit at the end is the software/firmware version. Is this the latest one or have I been duped? :holiday:

I had a stall last night coming off the freeway. Pulled up at the traffic lights, it hunted for idle, then stopped. Ambient less that 20, A/C off. Not happy, as its been ages since mine has actually stalled, it usually just drops the revs too low before returning to idle.

Sorry to sound stupid... but what is normal idle??.... trying to understand what you guys are going through as my car has no idle problems... you guys that have this problem... how low are your revs dropping to cause the car to stall??

Main symptom is when you put the clutch in as you pull up, the revs drop way to low (ie 300rpm) which has an effect on steering, brakes etc, as there is less assistance going to them due to the low revs. As soon as the ECU realises that the revs have dropped that low, it blips it back up. Should then settle to normal idle of 750rpm or so.

Didnt have any stalling problems (touch wood!) but did have a horrible thump on coming to a halt and a rough gear change in my auto.

Had the new Cals flashed a few weeks ago and my T is much better - I no longer wait for the thump on deceleration and upchanges are much smoother (was told it can take about 500km to be very effective by the dealer) and dont think its been de-tuned!

Teebone,

The downshift thump and dodgy upshifts sound similar to my problems, can I just ask you if they're the same or similar to what you had??...

The problem I have is predominately with the 2--3 and 3--2 shifts. The 3--2 downshift is definitely sharper than either the 4--3 or 2--1 downshift. And more importantly, the 2--3 upshift when shifting at about 60km/h manually on a partial throttle gives you a surge in the back (nearly a kick, but not as sharp). I have driven one other "T" and definitely does the 2--3 amd 3--2 shift better than mine.

Thanks for any input......... :(

I've had the latest 30 update and no joy... still got the issue of almost stalling. took it back a week after the update about the same problem (oh and they didn't have time to fit my water pump sleeve on the original visit which is the primary reason it was in there in the first place at 7am...) and they said that it had no codes and should be sweet. it appears to me that it is even worse now I.e happening more often, than after the update. looks to me like all they did was disconnect the battery (all my trip computer readings etc have been reset) and are hoping for the best. :smilielol:

not happy

Bit difficult to say from this. My main gripe was with the trans thump that often occured when coming to rest and occassionaly when auto upshifting.

However, during the process of trying to resolve this I was loaned another T and this showed up how "rough/poor" the overall shift quality was in my T (regradless of the thump), so of course this then became another issue for me.

The new cal flash has improved both these issues (thump and shift quality/smoothness) but the thump does still occassionaly (rather than often) occur and I still don't think the trans is as smooth as the Oct 03 build T I borrowed.

When in SSS manual mode there can be a very severe thump when changing down manually from 2nd to 1st - this appears to be normal based on my car with the new cals and the loan car.

Hope this helps - suggest you get the new cal flash anyway, as it doesnt take very long (if the service tech knows what to do!)

Let me know how you go
