well, yeah, the 6 piston is slightly better than the 4 piston, but it's a negligible difference other than appearance when it comes to high performance braking situations.

I think 2 to 4 piston would be a decent upgrade and then 4 to 6 would be a less upgrade but still a good upgrade. Gotta get a hand on a set of 4 piston front and 2 piston rear brakes I think. Plus braided lines and new rotors.

 

Most of the braking is at the front right, so if I run 4 piston at front and 1 piston at rear, would that be similar? Just if I could only get my hands on a front set of brembo brakes.

The TBM brakes post is so general, it may as well be "Engine cylinder piston count does not matter".

 

The second one has a bit more detail, but does not really seem practical to use for applying to Falcons.

 

I think the relevant part for the discussions here would be to directly compare the brake options available for Falcons.

 

I did a quick calculation of the pad surface area on the 4 Piston front Brembos vs the 6 Piston front Brembos and the 4 piston pads are only about 65% of the area of the 6 piston pads.

That would have to make a decent difference to the heat handling capacity of the brakes.

 

The C5 calipers with 325mmx32mm discs were offered by Ford as an upgrade to the stock Turbo brakes (322mmx28mm disks) and it seems that one of the biggest difference with those is the pad surface area.
