Reuse the ones you have. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/97162-cam-captower-bolts/#findComment-1721440 Share on other sites

The cam caps are aluminium, that's what the rocker cover bolts screw into. Describe it differently so I/we can understand. There's not many torque to yield fasteners in a barra engine. If you've wrecked one and need a new one I'm sure someone will have a few spares sitting around. yellow_taxi New Member 10 Member For: 1y 5m 24d Posted 22/12/23 08:10 AM Author Share Posted 22/12/23 08:10 AM I understand what you mean but its not aluminium, the head has inserts that the cam cap bolts bolt to there magnetic there not aluminium, Just been told while I am having head reconditioned and putting cams in I'll need new cam cap bolts as there tourqe to yield and under alot of pressure , I know there only torqued to 10nm so not much buy just thought I'd ask the question and be safe last thing I wanted is a bolt to let go after being freshend up and pushing for more power. I haven't figured out how to upload photo otherwise I would Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/97162-cam-captower-bolts/#findComment-1721447 Share on other sites

The only way it would have an insert is if it was previously stripped and helicoiled. Definitely not tty. yellow_taxi New Member 10 Member For: 1y 5m 24d Posted 22/12/23 12:13 PM Author Share Posted 22/12/23 12:13 PM You are ment to replace but lots of people reuse them, they do stretch so specially under more power , also were the cam cap bolts slide over little guides and that's were the thread is for the cam cap bolts there not aluminium, magnets stick too it were it won't to the head?? Also I have 2 xr6 turbo motors ones a ba ones a fg there both torn down both the same $106 bucks for all new ones from Ford just found out so I'll be ordering them and play it safe. If I could figure out how to upload picture on here I would, also if rebuilding a head or motor why reuse bolts and parts wouldn't you rather use new ones specially under lots off load just like you do with head bolts and , con rod bolts and main cap bolts if rebuilding a motor wouldn't you use new ones?
