Its done, I have tuned several ZF 6 speed automatic transmissions with SCT Advantage and XCal3

All of the tuners at the Advanced Training at Herrods on the weekend were shown through ZF programming.

The dedicated and specialist training course on ZF for accredited SCT tuning houses is being organised now.

Its a very complicated piece of software but it works extremely well.

AFAIK no one else has 'cracked ZF' its a been a 24 month disassembly and development exercise that's involved - many - resouces, people, time and test vehicles. Glad to say its all been worth it :)

This is one of the new innovations I speak of

zf had been cracked ages ago u just had to shell up the $$$ for it through cv they have numerous cars now sporting 3k plus stall converters matched with a zf box

iam not 2 sure what ppl really want from the zf iam happy as a pig in sh3t with the shift quality of mine and I got boost off the line what more do u really want other than stall?

if I wanted my zf to act like a btr slamming gears I would of kept the ba wich in its own right was a nice driveline for what it was but the effortless power delivery the zf gives iam happy

some tuners cant tune the car right

some can and matched with a zf its a nice piece of machinery imho

if u can keep it smashed 1-2-3-4 and it doesnt hit limiter or anything funky u got to be happy :buttrock:

I do not believe this is correct, however happy to be proven wrong :)

Some of the advantages of correct transmission tuning that I have experienced hands-on are as follows -

Being able to change part throttle shift speed so that the shifts dont 'stack' on top of each other

Sensitising kick down and throttle response - change WOT shift points and converter lock

Being able to actually reduce or eliminate (choice is yours) Transmission Torque Control on and during shift

Stopping high powered cars locking out of gear at WOT gearshift - which can and does happen

Applying the correct on-going and off-going clutch pressures to prevent premature transmission wear

and of course reduce/eliminate clutch slip

The bottom line is you can make a car much 'nicer' to drive by correctly calibrating the transmission controller - its as much of a tangible difference as a good engine tune just on its own :)
