so if it had been said b4 that u cant have a stall converter in a zf unless u have full tuning ability of the zf how are these blokes getting stall converters in there cv tuned cars? :dontknow:

is it all b/s about the stall or can u get away with it without the zf being touched?

You could probably put a 3000rpm converter in a stock ZF and have it work for a - very - short time..

The issue is that the ZF has a 'Stall versus Time' table which is internal in the TCM and simply wont allow you to hold the car against the brake and load the converter for more than around 1.2 seconds at 3000rpm - without tuning. that's what the coding in the TCM looks like to me. Will we be able to defeat this? Absolutely :)

JETSNOT I would say you have some 'major' torque reduction issues in your transmission or tune looking at your signature times so you would be a good candidate for a decent calibration (possibly even before worrying about fitting an upgraded converter). 420rwkw in a properly tuned 6T with a properly tuned ZF should be looking at more like 130+ mph through the traps so you are leaving plenty on the table at the moment.
