Hi all,

obviously there is lag.. more so in a manual. after shifting from 3rd into 4th my bov works dumps the air but feels like it takes too long to get back into the boost. While my xr8 has torque after every gear change if you’re in the right rpm range. Is this just the norm with manual and barras or could I set the bov up better so it gets back into boost quicker? 530hp manual fg xr6t

I’ve got a blowoff valve, isn’t it suppose to dump all the air out so it can spool up straight away under the right load and rpm?

or is recirculating actually performance enhancing ? I’ve got a ceramic twin plate and I feel like that slows the shifts also 😂😂

thank you!

If you dump the air to atmosphere it cannot easily get back into the intake. If you recirculate that air to the intake past the filter instead, that air doesn't have to be worked as hard by the turbo to compress it again to push it back toward the throttle body.
