last few weeks I have noticed an occasional clunk or bang from the left rear going over a bump doesn't happen often but when it does I sounds bad... the car has OZ racing coil overs and 20x10s all round

I had the car on the hoist I noticed hitting the sway bar links they made a clunk and they were flogged out so I replaced them. car feels nicer and tighter to drive all bushes look fine I was expecting to see blade or diff bushes flogged even though they were done about 12 months ago. I just cant find where the sound is coming from. car is quite low-ish about. its actually starting to piss me off

Rose joints, loose subframe, diff bushes not installed correctly?

Lever the wheel up and down while the car is an inch or two off the ground and check more bushes.

Bushes are cheap anyway, replace all of them.

I'll have a better look tomorrow I guess, I just didnt think bushing through out was going to be a issue since its all around 12 months old...

another question I see your name on the PCMtec forums ... do you know if PCMtec software will run on a Xtool D8? or is it strictly a windows platform?

I assumed since you had flogged out sway bar bushes the rest would be stuffed too. If you've replaced them all fairly recently you probably don't need to do it again.

I don't know if PCMTec will run on other platforms. A question about it running on Linux was raised a while ago and the answer was negative.

sway bar bushes were mint, the sway bar links,  they were flogged out which was the only thing I never replaced even though they're only $40 each retail haha... I just brought OE type ones since BNT automotive is across the road and I wanted them done there and then. well I am about to jack the rear up and see what I find...

Bump stops are flogged. I can't see any evidence that there's been any bottoming out on them. I can't quite see but I had the rear jacked up put a bar under the left rear I can feel I light knock I just can't point to were it is coming from. I was trying to do this on my own which was difficult to lever a bar and look and feel where it was coming from. Would've been nice if I got a free 4 poster at work today and jacked the rear up while I was in the air. Originally last week I thought it was the sub frame, the rear diff mount had a crack 5 mm from the bushing housing. I welded the crack ground it down cut a piece with 3mm steel plated the whole back and added some gussets thinking that was knocking.

Finding the knock is going to be a 2 man job

I took the car out today I am now really suspecting its one of the left side front diff bush, levering I could feel knock if I moved it fast but trying to see any movement was impossible and when I could get a position to see and lever it all looked normal...

Right, the reason why I suspect the front diff bush (12 months after replacing them)... I'm not pushing big power 412rwkw, I usually just cruise but today I was beating on it to find this noise I floor it in first it obviously breaks traction but I will bang from the rear into second gear or if a floor it and stay in first going from acceleration to deacceleration the bang is heard again or it will happen on some bumps on the road

Yeah a lot of the time you need someone moving parts and someone else looking at what is worn out.

Well, 12000kms ago I replaced these with OE ones and look what I found... odd. The sound comes from the left this Is the right front
