:k24t: Um, er............

The car is being picked up today by my sister! Did not get back last night in time to the dealers. She apparently has been detailed and is ready to go!(The Car not my sister!)

Get this however, upon dropping the car off I requested for the Blacklash to be measured and adjusted on the car, which they wrote down and indicated they would do. Upon speaking to them yesterday I asked whether it had been done they said no.

They indicated that to measure the backlash they had to drain the oil from the diff and remove the centre cover to check it  hang on has'nt the car just had the diff put in why would it have not been checked prior to being installed? Surely the supplier does not deliever the diff with oil in it. The only thing I can asertain is it is delivered as a sealed unit? But you would think that being the car is having it's 3rd diff put in and the customer has requested something specifically to do with the problem be checked, that you would to ensure they do not return with a problem?

Anyway I probably won't get to drive her until Sunday at this stage as I am back late tonight, away tommorrow, but we will see how it goes. I really want to find out myself, but everything's preventing me from driving her! :beerchug:

JB,

Did you mark the diff so that you know if they replaced it ?

I have done this in the past and have caught suppliers out who said they have replaced something and have not.

I really hope that the problem is fixed this time. It would be nice to see that a second person has had the shunt fixed according to the survey I did.

I guess I will find out my fate next week.

DOH! No forgot to! I would say however with the charachteristics of the last diff I would hope I could pick the difference! I will have a look under the car, see what the GO is.

I would like to trust the dealer on this one as we waited so long. Also Ford customer service have got their eyes on this as well, as they keep ringing the dealer and myself.

They left me a message the other day to let me know they were aware the diff had arrived and my car was booked in. They then requested me to call them 1 week after it had been replaced.

The only thing I cannot be sure about is whether I received a so called grade 10 diff! :beerchug:

Well guys I know there are a few of you who have PM'd me and are waiting to here the results with bated breath.

I took her for a quick spin tonight when I got home, but will wait to draw a conclusion over the next few days as I drive it in normal conditions. I will be able to have a final decsion Tuesday night when I get back from my trip to Ballarat, that should expose any problems if any.

Sorry to hold you off further, however initailly it seems ok, but then I am also listening for things that other people would not, as it has made my judgement biased. :smilielol:

Stay Tuned................. :smilielol:

I'm on my second diff. which was changed about a year ago, and it is gradually getting worse!!

It was also worse than the original one when it was changed, and when I complained, they sent me a letter telling me it was within vehicle specifications (in other words, f... off)

My service manager does not share this view, but their hands are tied!

As this gets worse, I intend to start hounding Ford again!!!!
