Hey. So I have a Falcon Xr6 Fg Upgrade Utility 6 sp sports auto and I’m wanting to find out if it is factory fitted 6 speed or had a 5 speed swapped out. Can anyone point me in the direction to find this out? I’ve done the ppsr search but that’s not telling me anything. Any help would be much appreciated.

Probably best to contact Ford with your VIN number and they should be able to tell you the configuration of your vehicle from the factory. If they don't have a record of it, then it's going to be basically impossible to tell without getting first hand experience from the initial purchaser of the vehicle.

What's the tear tag? It's the 4 letter/number code on the inside of the driver's door.

A couple of years back I emailed foacust1@ford.com with my details and the vehicle details. They can send you a verification letter that confirms exactly what options your car had when it was sold.

Easier way too as Puff says, but the letter is interesting as it it tells you how many were manufactured in your paint colour, with your factory options, transmission etc

I had a look in the PCMTec tune repository, loaded the file and it shows parameters for the zf6, nothing for the 5r55. Safe to say it's a 6 speed from factory.

Determining whether your Falcon XR6 FG Upgrade Utility has a factory-fitted 6-speed or underwent a 5-speed swap requires a detailed inspection. Check the vehicle's documentation, such as the owner's manual or build sheet, for transmission specifications. Additionally, the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) can provide information about the original factory configuration. If unsure, consult a certified mechanic or contact the manufacturer for precise details. They can examine the transmission, identify any modifications, and verify whether the 6-speed is factory-installed or a result of a previous upgrade or swap.
