Hey guys have researched for weeks on end trying to work out why my heater isn’t working 2004 Ba xr6T, have checked connections with icc, heater core hoses are hot, hvac plugs are good no coolant leaks, only thing I can notice is I can’t see movement with the mixer shaft at all switching between ac and heat icc displays ac and everything works, how can I diagnose this issue is there a way to definitely confirm mixer shaft is broken or faulty hvac? Cannot confirm ac works as my pump is gone don’t wanna spend hundreds at mechanics just to diagnose , thanks legends

Definitely sounds like the mixer shaft, if you can't see it moving when you change the settings. It could also be the HIM, which controls the mixer shafts, but you usually get weirder symptoms if you've got a failing/failed HIM.

Anyone recommend someone located in Sydney that could diagnose and fix an issue like OP on the cheaper side. I understand the whole dash may need to come out.

I do not know anyone that does it, but I do most things myself.

Aircon is stuck on cold in my BA XT wagon.
I am planning on tackling it myself at some point, but it seems like a pretty big job to do.
