Sound's like the starter motor loses power then regains it in a split second. Does this for a little while until finally (5 seconds) the motor actually turns over and is firing. No issue at all starting the car up while it's warm, it also drives smooth as silk (cold or hot) Battery is now brand new, made no difference. Any Ideas?? Sounds like it might not be holding fuel pressure over extended periods which would be why hot starting is good, otherwise if the car has been tuned then it may need some attention for cold cranking. That's my 2 cents
