Hey guys

Friend of mine just brought a fg xr6 turbo, intake exhaust, stock engine battery relocation kit, exhaust 288rwkw 16psi had a few issues with the coolant pressurising in the system new water pump, hoses, radiator and dayco overflow tried to bleed any air out over half an hour, drove around after topped up then done it again..

I've had it with this car we are now pricing a rebuild thinking lifted the head any final thoughts what it could be? Thanks in advance.

288rwkw is way too low for 16psi... has it been taken back to the tuner or consulting with another tuner?

I had a coolant flush with a new overflow bottle and cap from repco for my FG. Straight after it everytime I stopped it would dump the coolant out the overflow. Tried a new OEM cap and bottle same and then another cap same issue. Mechanic said I had a head gasket. I put the old cap back on and fixed. That was 7 years ago and for the last 2 years its had 470rwkw at 25 psi..

If it's just pissing out the overflow in the header tank then it's getting too hot. The main reason for that is a faulty thermostat. They can fark out quickly with no warning, so it's worth the $20 to chuck a new one in. Get a thermometer and chuck the old one in a pot on the stove for a sanity check.

If the car has been overheated before I'd have concerns about head gasket integrity, but otherwise there is no chance the head was lifted at 16psi.

Changed thermostat already mate, I've been told the aftermarket coolant dayco tank caps are rubbish and cause all sorts or problems does anyone know about this issue? Apparently it's doesn't do the same.job as a factory ford cap.

Got tuned 3000km ago owner said he put this coolant tank in because the old one looked old.

I've had my suspicions about the caps due to things doing stuff, I didn't do the proper testing to confirm though.
