I want to replace the gel top of the shift knob as mine is worn to sh*t. I have the replacements but the instructions it came with don't tell me how to remove it and any info I can find on how to remove the shift knob is either conflicting or incomplete. Thanks in advance

The leather on it isn't great but I'd like to keep it as good as I can and you can't remove the boot without taking the knob off, right?
