I've tried using a couple of different grade Loctite thread lockers (243, 263 and another brand of purple super duty) but everytime I put a socket on the bolts, I find that they are either loose or not quite as tight as they were torqued to. I'm using ARP 2000 series bolts and I have followed the manufacturer instructions to the tee. I know of people who actually put a tack weld on them and swear by it, but it's a little messy IMO, and would have to affect the balance of the motor (considering I spent a fortune on having everything balanced within a gram).. Please let me in on your secret, if you have one! Cheers Ken

Flywheel/Flexplate Bolt Locking Plate for Ford Falcon EA EB ED EF EL AU BA BF FG 6-CYL (planetparts.com.au) Or if you're a tight arse and have a drill press, just tie wire the bastards like I did. If it's good enough for a helicopter, it should be fine for a barra.

I want to enjoy driving the car now, the build took almost 3 years.. It's depressing having a nice car that you can't drive

Problem solved. https://mackielecindustries.com.au/collections/ford-fgx-falcon/products/barra-flywheel-bolt-retainer-kit 8 hours ago, hjtrbo said: There is a locking plate you can buy that goes around the bolts for $20 plus shipping. It won't work with ARP 12 sided bolts.

Drill press is for doing tie wire.

hjtrbo Bronze Donating Members 320 Member For: 13y 10m 28d Posted 29/12/22 02:20 AM Share Posted 29/12/22 02:20 AM It'll look like sh*t. Buy the proper pliers and stainless wire. 3rd gear sell them at a good price. And drilling into those case hardened bolts free hand will not be for the faint hearted. Reckon you'll get frustrated and give up. Drill press is a must in my opinion. https://www.thirdgear.com.au/6-Safety-Wire-Pliers https://www.thirdgear.com.au/stainless-steel-safety-lock-wire-15-m/ https://www.totaltools.com.au/114575-p-n-workshop-1-5-x-40mm-hss-tin-jobber-drill-bit-10-piece-166310591 https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-500w-16mm-drill-press-bdp-500_p0048826 https://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-75mm-drill-press-vice_p5860161 https://www.bunnings.com.au/trojan-3mm-centre-punch_p5610241 https://www.bunnings.com.au/protector-clear-ultralite-wraparound-safety-glasses_p5814707 How much rear wheel killa bees you pitting out and what are you turning it to? Tabs can be manipulated to where you need them, ensuring things don't loosen of at all. Thanks for your thoughts and knowledge Ken
