It won't hurt to put a set of new plugs in it if they are old. Farked plugs have a bigger gap which in turn puts more load into the coils which then sh*t themselves. Then you can see what is causing the erratic running, whether it's the throttle blade moving or the timing jumping around, and then work out why it is doing it.
