hi

I'm having a problem with my 240kw Barra

she drives good and changes gears normal up to 3 to 4k runs 6psi

has no folt codes

then when it  hits 3 to 4k revs the motor splutters and the 6 psi turns to 12 psi well the gauge goes up to 12

then the motor runs rough and and smells lean I don't get an engine light come on then I turn it off and restart it and it runs normal

I've replaced the plugs twice the coils 2 tps sensor turbo solenoid

if you could help would be great thank you in advance

are you certain it doesn't have injectors, fuel pump, or a wastegate actuator, catalytic converter etc?

could be a collapsed cat... e.g. with a small amount of flow (lower revs) it doesn't obstruct the flow but once it gets into higher revs with the same boost level there's more air flowing through per second and it gets blocked a bit so the turbo gets more backpressure and spikes the boost up higher than it should... only a guess, though. Best to take it to a dyno/mechanic and run it up to see what it's doing.

The stock exhaust is 2 1/4 inch twin after the cat. If it's aftermarket, it could just be cat-back, but if it's dump or cat + cat-back, it can cause issues with a stock tune.

Mebbe a rooted actuator? The diaphragm could be stuffed causing it to overboost.
