Gday, got a 2010 G6E Turbo that I’m currently planning to put a sub in using a output converter. It has the premium sound pack optioned from the dealer installed with the factory 8” subwoofer. Does anyone have a wiring layout / diagram of the plug going into the amp? Trying to do it as neat as possible without running unnecessary extra wiring from the speakers if I don’t have too. Cheers!

The factory amp won't power much more than the stock 8" sub, so you'll need to replace it... means you'll need to use either a low-level input-capable amplifier or a line converter.

May be a silly idea.... But if the car has premium sound, you may be able to use the audio source signal that used to go to the factory amp for a new, more powerful one. Saves you needing to tap into other sources.

This is probably the way its done anyway lol, but the idea just sprung to mind haha.

As @k31th said, you'll need an aftermarket amp and sub. There are slim subs on the market that will fit in the factory position, and you can get some pretty small, and capable, amps nowadays that perform way better than the factory fit-out.

Anyway, you're after wiring diagrams. There's a thread on the forums with a link to the FG workshop manuals, wiring diagrams are in there, so should have what you're after :)

For future reference, this thread is pinned to the top of the "General Tech" Category :)

My google drive link appears to still work too, so that's a win!

Sorry wasn’t very clear about what I was doing. What you said is exactly what I’m doing, trying to find the source to the factory amp from the head unit, to then wire in a line output converter to run to a amplifier which will then power a sub. Cheers for the link, must’ve been half asleep when I was looking through the forums 😂. Will have a gander now. Have a good weekend!
