Replacement Carbon Canister question

Hi,

Car is a BA XR6 Turbo MKII

For a while now, I've been smelling a fuel smell in the cabin and on the outside of the car at the rear. It's usually when the weather is warm, so during Winter you don't smell it at all, and now as we're entered Spring and the weather has starting warming up, I can start smelling it occasionally.

I've taken it to the mechanics, who have gone over the car.

-They can't find a leak, that being said fuel economy hasn't changed

-We've put a new fuel cap on the car

-Fuel vapour canister has been changed

But the smell persists.

We believe it'ss the Carbon canister, and it has become saturated.

The mechanic mentioned they can't get a replacement carbon canister from Ford because they don't stock the part anymore.

What's my best option to get a new or a replacement one? or even resolve the issue?

Can I use a FG, or FGX carbon canister?
Wreckers?

I don't really want to go into Summer again and have that smell.

Thanks

I've personally never heard of this, and I have absolutely no idea what a carbon cannister is 🤣🤣

I get funny smells in my car, but its from my catch can setup. I have front and rear breathers on the rocker cover plumbed to a catch can that vents to atmosphere.

Do you have something like this that could be causing the issue?
