Guys,

I am in need of some very cheap wheels for the rear of the new T.

I have premium brakes, but I believe this only affects the front, so 16" should be fine, they do not need to be wide I have 17"s at the moment.

I am after 4 wheels and tyres, but they need to have decent tread and not recaps. These are for drifting, so I do not want good rims, steelo rims are fine.

Can anyone point me in the right direction in Sydney for this type of thing ?

Does any other cars wheels fit a T ?

Thanks

Hey mate,

just a note, I'm pretty sure with premium brakes the rears are bigger again then standard.

We were putting my wheels on a mates Falcon ute, and I took his 15" pursuits and tried to put them on my car, they wouldn't fit over the standard rear brakes, so I'm guessing 16"s won't fit over premium brakes at all.

Definately try to fit the wheels before you hand over the dollars for them.

But I'm thinking you may be going to have to get stuck with 17's.

I just put Nankangs on my standard 17's for $160 per tyre. No doubt if you hunted around you'd be able to find some cheapers ones.

Also if you make a friend with someone who works at a tyre shop ie Bob Jane etc he should be able to do you a deal on second handies. Have a mate who can sell me second hand 235/45 for $15

Well good luck mate

GO THE DRIFTING

ms700,

I would love to get the 17"'s but they are out of my price range at the moment, but I am interested in the AU ones. Do you think they will fit the T with premiums ?

I can see you do not have this option (only a better one  ) but if they fit, I can get tyres.

I am just hoping to have the car by the 1/5/04 as this is the drift day and my dealer has promised delivery by end of april. I guess this is a good way to run the car in....sideways :banghead:

Sorry man I cant help you out with the wheels, though I need to ask you a question about how well the BA turbo falcons drift.

Now I know that the BA falcon is alot stiffer than the oldes models(body wise), but are the BA turbo falcons a good balanced car, and do they drift nicely?

e.g are they snappy at the arse end when sliding and require super quick reactions to correct it.

regds,

craig

I expect the T to be a decent drifter. Might need to get ajustable antiroll bars and may be stiffer rear suspension. I am not after a car that is a full sik drifter, but one I can show my skyline firends, that aussie cars can drift.

I have been to a few drift days and I can tell you they are awsome fun, it is also a great way to learn car control.

We normally use the Oran park North circuit (gocart) so its tight and fun.

The premium rear brakes are the same size as standard (just the rotors are grooved) so you will fit 16" wheels over them.

However, you will need 17" wheels to fit over the premium front brakes as they are larger than standard.
