I asked them just to change all the bushes. They changed the bushes took it for a test drive and the problem never arose for them.
YEH RIGHT Member 53 Member For: 10y 4m 28d Posted 29/03/22 06:37 AM Share Posted 29/03/22 06:37 AM I had this issue on our old 2005 BF XR6, was the brake booster rod adjustment, if the issue pops up again that'll be it The steering would shake pretty violently from no reason at all, slow down.. stop check tyres/missing wheel weight etc. carry on driving no issue for weeks then randomly it'll happen out of nowhere, slow down, stop.. start driving again no dramas! Remove the master cylinder from the brake booster (can be done carefully without dropping the fluid) inside the booster there's a threaded actuation rod, wind it in 1/4 of a turn (to increase the freeplay) and should fix, if not wind in another 1/4 of a turn From what I understand there's not enough clearance and the rod makes contact with the master cylinder causing the EBS to have issues resulting in the steering shake, since I did the rod on our car it never did the steering shake again Thanks Google! YEH RIGHT Member 53 Member For: 10y 4m 28d Posted 30/03/22 01:28 AM Share Posted 30/03/22 01:28 AM Seems to be a relatively common issue, there's more than a few story's of people being charged 1000's of dollars at suspension places for repairs with the issue only reoccurring afterwards then cured with the rod adjustment I've owned a couple of BFII's since then but they never have any issues
