I own a 2003 ba xr6t and when after purchasing sight unseen (I know don't hate me haha) have discovered my turbo is cooked. I have purchased a GT3582r from turbochargersplus and a new oil feed line as I'm certain that is the cause of the issue. I can't find any info if the boost control will be the same as factory and if once installed will I have to straight away to get it tuned. I am worried about the turbo overboosting and causing me more grief. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Cheers Dylan Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/96567-installing-gt3582r-high-flow/ Share on other sites

Ask the supplier for the specifications to confirm. If it's got different hardware there's a high likelihood of issues and you'll need a dyno-tune to suit the new turbo. dood1164 New Member 13 Member For: 3y 3m 22d Posted 07/01/22 06:12 AM Author Share Posted 07/01/22 06:12 AM Sweet as they're practically identical to those specs. A bit of a side note is there a rule of thumb of how much oil to prime the new turbo with. Cheers for all the help 🙂 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/96567-installing-gt3582r-high-flow/#findComment-1710034 Share on other sites

Do that for a few seconds and the oil goes all around the system (this is something you do after an oil change, too). 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/96567-installing-gt3582r-high-flow/#findComment-1710036 Share on other sites

Tom Tucker Donating Members 702 Member For: 5y 9m 30d Posted 07/01/22 08:31 AM Share Posted 07/01/22 08:31 AM that's not genuine. Hang onto that warranty! There seems to be some okay options around at the moment though, hopefully yours is one on them Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/96567-installing-gt3582r-high-flow/#findComment-1710042 Share on other sites
