There's plenty of places to do this stuff with all their half-witted mates legally

Is this calling all people who do burnouts halfwits? I'm just needing clarification before I go off my brain.

Scotty

Please point out where I have inferred that all who do burnoutd are 1/2 witted.

I am saying that the vastly greater majority of the people involved in illegal street racing who get their cars seized after being warned at least once are in possession of less than 1/2 a brain I'd suggest

I'm not a there to be a good example - I shouldn't have to show other adults how to behave themselves or use commonsense - that is what the community is for.

And the community elected the polies who employed you to do just that, be the good example! If the community can't look to Mr Plod for an example, who do we look to?

That sort of attitude is why I have little respect for most cops(not pointing a finger as I don't know you plonky). But when I see them speeding to get back to the station for lunch and then booking me for speeding after lunch! not good PR!

You ARE the example, appointed by us, the community.

What a load of rubbish. A mature ADULT shouldnt need another ADULT to be their example. Be mature enough to make valued judgements on what you feel to be right or wrong, dont vicariously use the Police as some sort of moral standards scapegoat.

Society as a whole pretty much spells out what is acceptable. My example isnt generally set by my workmates, rather how my parents raised me, and how I perceive societal norms based on my own values. I have seen some great ethical/moral standards set by workmates, but just as many, if not more, by the 'regular' people I interact with every day.

Once members of society as individuals start taking responsibility for themselves rather than the culture of blame so rife nowadays, then we may get somewhere.

Police are just as liable in the law as you are. If you see them speeding back to the station to eat lunch (and I am assuming your proof is the fact that you went back and ate lunch with them) then make a complaint

This always comes down to who is responsible......

VG and Plonky are correct in what hey are saying. If these people are driving, then most (18yo>) would be classed under the law as being adults. They would all know the penalties with street racing as they would all be talking at these meetings about close calls or being busted. They could go to Eastern Creek on a wednesday night to prove their CRX is the sikest subwoofer on wheels, but they want to make cash and deal drugs.

I am glad these crettins will loose their cars and be off the road.

While it is easy to say the cops should be busting real criminals, these people are the real criminals. People spend big $$$'s on their cars to launder CASH made from drugs and other criminal activity. I am glad the cops are finally targeting the Habib's of the world in their organised street meets and get these million dollar ricers off the road with their ultra loud doof doof music.

You do the crime you do the time

l'm with Plonky and VG on this.

Society these days looks for someone to blame for everything that happens to them as it cant possibly be their fault., Did someone mention litigation? The police are there to do a job and enforce the morals that are expected by society, not to set an example. Right and wrong are taught to kids at home by their parents, not by watching a cop do their job when they're adults

Take their cars if they are dumb enough to street race, its the only way they will be deterred other than banging them up that l can see.

Where do I begin?!?!

Firstly, I've been to similar racing/burnout meets (JUST WATCHING!!!) and I must be blind or something. Because I missed all the drug dealing, etc.

And in response to VG's comments (not having a go at you VG): Most of the people I know would regularly break some kind of law knowingly (e.g. speeding, taking drugs, breaking copyright laws, etc, etc.) I therefore don't think it is valid to say that society spells out what is acceptable behaviour. If we went by the majority of the people I know, most drugs would be legalised, speed limits would be abolished, etc, etc.

Laws are in place to protect people from their own stupidity.

Sorry guys, just thought it was my turn to have a bit of a rant!

It's good to see you don't think they are all drug dealers & criminals, just a certain ethnic minority. Surely you left out some people to offend with your one hat fits all attitude. :o
