Has anyone had any experience of driving in the outback with their turbo falcon? I've got an FG xr6t and hoping to take it to Broken Hill. There are some dirt roads that are 2wd appropriate but I'm wondering how it'll do in those conditions, and in the heat.

Any experience on this forum?

All falcons are fine until you get into the 4wd-necessary areas haha

Just take it slow-ish and clean the underside when you're done.

Used to drive my turbo falcon down the dirt roads in summer for work. Apart from having to restrain yourself from massive high speed powerskids on the gravel, running the aircon on a 40+ degree day made the engine temps climb a bit when sitting there idling. Stone chips will happen, kangaroos will happen and idiots thinking that no one else could possible be on the road, happen to pull out without even bothering to look.

I'd suggest a good look over all of the various coolant lines for condition and tightness, and maybe even carry a spare or two.
