Get those valve springs in before you try for more boost. You're right though it's never enough...until you get to the point where it's too much lol

Yeah @Puffwagon top tip on the springs.. Along with Walbro intank pump, first port of call.. 🚢  Whilst we're here and talking springs, any preferences or not that important?

I need to stop, but I can't, I quit smoking, but can't quit more HP.. 😅  Hmmm.. oh well, here's to the next stage 🍻

The thing to consider with springs is how much rpm and how much boost are you gonna run.

I've used the crow kit with retainers up to 40psi which is probably too much spring for a 20psi tune...but not the worst.

Have a look around and see what they're rated for, ie how much seat pressure they have, then decide upon that.

You could consider our engines undersprung once they're tuned, the springs aren't stiff enough to close the valves in time. Conversely you don't want to run a super heavy spring if you don't need to cos it'll wear the valve train prematurely.

So yeah have a look, find some options then post again and get some feedback from others experience.

just a intank pump, battery relocation, actuator and tune... Sweeeeet...

Can anyone explain when it would be necessary to use aftermarket retainers when doing springs?
Whats wrong with the standard retainers?

I know rob uses the crow springs, and the spring and retainer kit is on sale atm from precision racing

Edit, same kit also on sale from independent motorsports
