Hey guys

I have a FG mk2 turbo ute 400rwkw that has been doing my head in recently.

It has been stalling when at full temp

when I park or at the lights ect..

so far I have changed o2 sensors, crank sensor, injectors, plugs, coil pack, throttle body, air flow sensor, alternator and battery is new

I’ve thrown it on computers and they all say nothing

has anyone came across this issue before? Any help would be appreciated!

cheers

the tuner should be able to log the error and figure out which part of the system is causing it to fail, is what I'm saying... but I'll take a wild stab in the dark and guess at the PCV system.

Assuming all hardware is correct it’ll be

Incorrect injector scales followed by

incorrect airflow drive map

Had similar - only when warm etc and randomly happening

Turned out it was one of the mounts for the thermo fan - out of balance caused it to stall or almost stall when the fan kicked in

Took ages to work out what it was as the fan wasn't always active and the issue only presented when the car was hot AND when the fans were operating.

When it did go on the vibrations caused triggered something (knock sensors??) that screwed with the idle.

This was back when everything was stock - can imagine it'd be even worse on a tuned engine.

I had the same issue with my FG and found it was the alternator. At idle it would drop down into the 11volt range. New alternator and all good. My mate with a 2011 XR6T had the same issue. His alternator was fine but the ECU voltage would tank at idle into the 11volt range, He had a underdrive kit on his so he purchased a smaller pulley for the Alternator and voltage never dropped below 13.5v. No more idle problems!
