There is a very high chance your bits were put in if the place is reputable. Letting small sh*t go like lifters or various other things that "should be right" is common place. Would you even be doing anything about it if there wasn't a noise? The old case of yeah nah she'll be right...until it isn't.

Lifter preload should be checked in an engine build and despite issues, you're being looked after now it seems.

Yeh look 9/10 engines I would build typically would run donor engines lifters as there’s very low chance they’re ever an issue …. That said the new big banger engine going in the ute has a full set of Atomic lifters at the horrendous price of nearly a kidney !

That include the atomic rocker arms or just the lifters?

So, lifters and phasers replaced. Noise is still there! Apparently it is only at 2400-2600 rpm, and the noise point can be shifted with the Haltech.

The guys are thinking it may be an issue with the Dyno-Mite cams

Is it like an almost buzzing sound but definitely metallic?

Also what do you mean the noise can be lifted with the Haltech?

I am fairly sure I run the same cams.

Are you guys absolutely certain its not timing chain related?

Apparently mucking around with cam timing settings is able to move the rpm of the sound.

The brand new hd chain guide was changed out again as well because apparently it had a mark on it. And it has a new hd sprocket. Pretty much everything is brand new.

I haven't actually heard it, I'm just letting the tuner work through it

Interesting;

Im trying to understand how the cams them selves could contribute to noise within the valve train, but can’t get my head around it.

I wonder if it’s registering any false nock because of it.

Good luck with it bud!
