By the time you factor in parts and labour costs to do the flapper mod I imagine the difference in cost to be pretty small for minimal gain

Does anyone know a good mechanic who can rip out my turbo in the sydney region? It appears to be a full on job and I want to make sure it's done correctly. Since we're on the topic, flapper mod... What kind of power levels does it unlock on 98 with the stock fg baby turbo? You still don't understand. I'd say 99% you will make the same power with or without the port. It's weather you and your tuner are happy with the following. No portingTarget 5psi get 16-20psi. With port. Target 12psi get 12psi.

Fact is the factory turbos are old, inefficient past their factory targets

It's just a bigger butthole to allow enough extra boost out. I'm sure there's a power mod we can do to the turbo though, no? That's probably why I'm confused. I'll check on that pulsar turbo though. I'm only at 80k kms so I may be able to sell my turbo and get a new one for fk all extra

People usually get them rebuilt with a gtx3582 core. This isn't cheap and I can almost guarantee it costs more than a pulsar turbo. That being said, it'd be a garrett turbo. So very well respected with known results and reliability.
