Hey guys my middle muffler is getting rusty and sounds like it’s going to blow out soon

im looking for a easy DIY bolt on muffler delete like one I’ve linked but can’t find anyone to sell or make one

my work schedule makes it so I can’t take my car anywhere currently

if anyone has one or can make me one let me know

thanks

:Welcome2FordXR6t:

so you can't even get to any old exhaust shop at any time? seems a bit unreasonable to me...

Any old exhaust shop and fab you one up really easily.

Well not really work has gotten busy,I start at 5am drive to work then shuttled to site don’t finish until 7pm Monday-Saturday

moved here for the job so don’t have anyone to drop it off or what ever 🤷‍♂️

mall exhaust places I have called are either “too busy” or “don’t do custom work like that” had one place lined up before work got busy but they wanted the car for a day and a half

why it’s so much easier to buy something and so it myself

if I had a house and welder I would just do it myself but again a little hard

What car is it? You could always just buy an off the shelf catback system and fit that. Fairly cheap, don't need a tune and will give you a better note than stock.

Absolute legend that looks like it should get me out of trouble

question though the standard system is a 3” ? How’s it go cutting back to a 2.5? I mean my car isn’t a power house it never will be those days are over

From the description in the link, "The standard exhaust on the FG models uses a combination of 3″ and twin 2.25″ pipework".

So yerp, the actual cat back is twin 2.5 inch which is a slight increase from the stock twin 2.25 inch.

Just remember to fit a cat back like that you will probably need access to a hoist due to the angle you need to approach the car to clear the rear suspension.

I recently had the middle muffler deleted on my FG sedan and it sounded horrible, so now have a resonator in there and it sounds perfect. I have an aftermarket dump and cat though, so if you are doing a delete with everything else stock, it might not be so bad.

On both occasions the exhaust place only needed the car for an hour, so I just had breakfast and did some work at a nearby cafe.

yeah, you either bend/scratch it getting it out due to the extra bend over the IRS... but going in usually there's a flange on either side of the IRS so the pipe goes in easily without a hoist haha and who cares about scratching the stock exhaust if you're going to turf it anyway?
