El Andrew you have a fair point, not saying your wrong or anything but I was just looking at it in a different way ..... I was looking at it in the way of saving the guy money in paying for tuning twice as well as the fact the motors got an unknown history and 250clicks is a lot of kays.... I know it's a Barra but still
back when I had a BA everyone said oh 300 is cool for a BA no worries... I was running a 290rwkw tune from autotech and at around 130 clicks motor was rooted.. and I took good care of that car Maintenance wise.... my Good friend also lunched his BA engine running similar  power tuned by C&V..... tbh I personally don't think a BA engine with that many Kays with an unknown maintenance history has any business seeing more boost but then again your right he mite want to just send it and see how it goes.......  but I still reckon he's better off with the gas motor from
The beginning only pay for a tune once and he can lean on it more give it a proper hiding and not have the worry in his mind that Rodney mite appear...
I know what you mean, and of course he could sell the BA motor now rather than potentially breaking it. From a tune perspective, shouldn't be major problem to swap motors and not need a retune if injectors, turbo, etc is remaining as is.

I'd say you were unlucky though - a healthy BA motor that is well tuned shouldn't break that early unless there was some other failure, fuel issue, etc that triggered it.

Of course depends how much it gets beaten up when driven too!

True true fair point.. I gotta disagree on the different motor not needing a retune though identical motors same setup can need a different tune to be spot on and I don't think Gas Motors and turbo motors even have the same comp ratio....

my motor bent a rod on cylinder 6 launched it from a dig gripped perfectly and that was that....

Ah sorry I was assuming you would retain the turbo head for the different valves etc and just use the gas bottom end.

Popping a motor occasionally keeps me awake at night when you see the prices for FG motors of unknown history. Makes the Atomic long motor seem like a good strategy if the need ever arises.

Tell me about it man.... FG motors people are asking big coin for em now and most got big Klms on them.... tbh If I blew a factory motor I'd just get a built one.. paying big coin for someone's used motor no thanks rather pay bigger coin and have a freshie in there...... on abit of an off

topic all this hype around Barra atm I wonder if it will last a long while or if it's just a phase

im About to build a motor for my F6 a part of me wanted to sell my Low Klm F6 engine off and buy a cheap NA motor and build that from scratch seeing as Though I could get serious coin for an FG F6 donk atm but I want a matching numbers car even if it's been modified...

Hey guys

Sorry guys this will be the last question about the bov,lol

So after I block the two ports on the crossover with chair tips, now the bov is all disconnected from the pipes except the little hose .

First question is,what do I do with that little hose left that's connected to the bov?

Second question is does the bov just stay there or do I zip tie it somewhere in the engine?

Sorry for the stupid questions but I dont want to stuff up

Thanks alot

You can leave the little pipe attached to the BOV or the other end and just plug it at either opening you leave.

If you're doing the chair stopper method, you remove the BOV and the relevant larger pipes from the car. If you're doing the "deactivate" method it stays plugged into the car in the factory location.
