That could explain why mine sometimes goes sh*tty!! My steering was fine then I was parking and heard a clunk when turning the wheel (no didn't hit anything) and the steering was dreadful afterwards (wasn't the first time)!

Had some alignment issues with my "t". I had a report done by specialist aligner & then confronted dealer who agreed to kick the tin toward fixing the problem. Left front camber was main issue. Had the mod done at 7000kms, now at 17,000 and perfect. If any one wants contact details I'd be happy to supply as they do a top job.

I have had my car now for 2 months and it has always been a bit "off"

The steering wheel is lower on the right than the left.

Had the 3000K service done and they took it to a wheel alignment place who printed out and said it was fine.

As with others I have read, I took my last car to a tyre specialist with the same problem and they fixed it.

Looks like I will have to do the same thing again!

if the wheel alignment is ok then the steering wheel needs to come off and be put back on straight its out a couple of splines on the shaft...

that's not the way it's done nowdays with air bags. The wheel is centred by locking it straight ahead and adjusting the tie rods. This changes the toe settings to align with the the steering wheel. If the aligner does his job properly you should have a straight steering wheel. Do not let anyone try to remove the wheel to centre it (big danger)

my car is less that 2000kms old and I traded my old xr6t which had a factory sports steering wheel on it and part of the deal was that they change the steering wheel.which they did but they didnt put it on straight so its going back to be done again.....so it can be done.

my steering wheel is also off centre, I.e it's a little to the left when driving dead straight.

I suspect it was like this when they swapped the sports wheel onto the stocko one.

I'll be mentioning it at the 3000km service.

Cheers,

Matt
