Then after getting it back after it was at the dealers the steering was of centre. I took it back a few weeks later they said they fixed it but this time the steering wheel was facing the other way. I have taken it back two more times and still no good. The car is not pulling to any side its just the steering wheel of centre. I will have to speak to the manager about it as its obviously unfixable by a wheel alignment, must be the steering column or something. Any one else encountered this problem. In my experience Ford service is bloody hopeless when it comes to wheel alignment and balance.I know in theory they should fix it but take my advice and take it to a wheel alignment / tyre specialist and get it done properly. Guest P'cisT Guests Posted 13/03/04 01:15 PM Share Posted 13/03/04 01:15 PM Go to a proper tyre specialist place and get them to do a four wheel alignment (normal is just front two). Also, try and find a place that will give you a report/printout of the adjustments done to each camber, castor and toe.

Just waiting for a new SP9000 18" tyre to come in.

Some of the people here at work who (apparently) worked for a ford dealership at some point only made sure the car tracks forward.Surely not but when I got my car wheel aligned my tyres were like soFront / | \ /BackSo only one wheel spot on.Anyways, get a third party to do it. Much less painful. And do it now because one of my mates here bought an xr6 ute and scrubbed out his tyres in 2500 kilometers. He was pissed to say the least when he was up for a new set so early. I'm not sure if he got Ford to replace it or not though. I'll call him and let you know.

I cannot explain it too well as I can't remember the name of the rod that needs a bolt adjusted on it. But it is connected to the front wheels and all you need to do is turn the bolt a quarter turn on one side (Eg near left hand wheel) a the opposite on the other (near right hand wheel) Depending on which way the steering wheel is "leaning"Pretty sh*tty explaination I know, but a steering/wheel alignment place will have in done in literally 5 min.I saw the guy do mine and was amazed how easy it was to do and how the Ford service guys didn't know how to do this. The best part is because the Ford guys couldn't fix it they said if I can get it fixed somewhere else they will pay for it under warranty (Which they did) So I was pleased with that. The steering/alignment guy is laughing though because mine was the 5th one he'd had in with that problem. He reckons he showed the Ford service guy that brought one in how it was done, but reckons he couldn't get his head around it.
