The other day I performed some urgent driving which lasted for about 15 minutes. This was max rev. acceleration and ABS braking through town. I got to my destination and the temperature was near the red and the temp light was on. Mind you the brakes were smoking too. I glazed the pads and had to have them replaced. (great job isnt it)

Has anyone else experienced this??? I had to get out of the car and chase someone so it was switched off, I know that this is the hottest time and should have idled but I wasnt able to. When we got back in it was in limp mode. After a while it cooled and went back to normal.

Does this sound like a cooling problem????

Certainly sounds like a heat problem.

Isn't there something in the manual about the overheating of the transmission and going into limp mode? I'm sure I read it somewhere.

You must have been doing some unbeleivable driving to get it that hot. Can I come next time?

Sounds like you should have a Turbo timer fitted by one of the Whiz kids.

A chappy in Brissy had a problem when he went out West in his T. Turned out his Oil temperature had reached a point when the Computer deemed overheated & sent his car into limp mode, I suggest you've done this. But a turbo timer for your specific use would help you.
