Ba xr6 Ute t5 conversion question

Hey guys, currently converting my ba mk2 xr6 ute to a t5 manual. I have purchased a conversion kit and have just realised that it came out of a non abs model Ute. Will I run into any issues with the speedo, as this box has a speedo output. It did come with a manual engine loom.

Sell it and get a 6 speed conversion.
5 speeds break.

the speedo signal in abs vehicles is calculated from the wheel sensors not from the gearbox (obvious gear box is from non abs vehicle) . get a couple of spare gearbox's , your gunna need them

Thanks, when she goes boom I’ll chuck a six speed in it. So the pcm I got was in a non abs Ute and mine is abs, I would just have to get the pcm flashed so it understands to take speed from abs ( speed sensors )? I assume cruise control would have to be enabled the same way also?

If you can, go the 6 speed first.
It's a lot of mucking around and work just going from 5 to 6 speed.
Do it once, save the work in the long run.

If you put the PCM from the manual car you will need someone to marry the ecm to all your components. they can then tell the ECM to change speedo input back to ABS.

now you might run into issues with talking to the ABS module, for this reason id suggest using your existing PCM.

 

Get someone to change it to a manual setup, hookup the reverse switch to the T5 and bypass the P/starter circuit.

 

t5 will be fine on a  NA car, just avoid clutch kicks.

if you plan on adding a turbo, plan on changing to a t56/tr6060
