A mate of mine used to have a nickname for his girlfriend... it was "City Ford".

I dont get it :kissmy:

Duh ... City Ford say yes more often ... wish I had a girlfriend like that ... ooops hang on I DO !!!

It's about time they found a new slogan - that one has been around since I worked there in 1977.

The girls on the switch had to answer the 'phone with "city ford say yes more often" and the smart guys on the other end would always come back with "but what about you darling?"

I havent bought my ford yet but its very very close now:) (real close ratt:)), but I can say that the chances are ill be buying from peter warren SMITHFIELD (unless I get a great deal elsewhere), ive had poor experiences elsewhere and these guy's pretty much saved me from buying a Expensive Daewoo by just simply treating me like a valued customer.

And there service department setup is awesome with seats and windows so you can watch the whole thing:) Not sure if this is normal with other ford dealers but with subaru (and others) I allways felt like an intruder whilst watching my car being serviced.

Cheers

Jim

ps. still cant decide on the 6t or xr8, the decision is killing me!!!!!

If you are going to buy an auto go for the XR8 but if you can drive a manual you will be very happy in the T6. Actually, you'll probably be very happy either way

Cheers Jim. Thanks for the compliments.

The best way to solve your problem is to drive both cars back to back. Come around again when you're free.

Funny, isn't it? The same dealerships keep popping up when it comes to negative experiences.

There are some good ones though. I have bought my last seven cars (six falcons and a fairlane) from Cumberland Ford at Blacktown because of their Service team. Sure, I've had problems - the fairlane was taken back for the same problem about half a dozen times. But eventually the issue was resolved because the DP was happy to intervene.

I am happy to concede that this might be a one-off, but I think that if you treat the service people with respect, then you're a couple of steps in front of the ignoramuses who front up expecting to be treated like royalty.

That said, it doesn't excuse the likes of Sinclair Ford. Looking for an LTD over the phone for my father, I was asked to go out there on a Saturday earlier this year (from Baulkham Hills). We arrived and kicked the tyres on an XR8, and a salesman came up and asked if he could help. My dad replied that he was after something "a little bigger". The sales guy treated us like street dwellers and essentially said, "good luck buddy - come back when you're serious".

The outcome?

Thanks to Sinclair Ford, my father drives a Caprice.

Another vote for Cumberland Ford service.

They might not fix all the issues, but their customer service is the best I've recieved from a Sydney ford dealer.

New Oak Ford in Melbourne and get it delivered in Sydney. Couple of $ks cheaper than 3 Sydney dealers I got prices from. None of the Sydney dealers would give a Fleet Discount on a T. One said the reason is that they want to keep the price up so that it is seen as a "special" car and not a bog standard rep mobile.

You'd be lucky to get any discount on a T.

They are selling so well and the waiting list is still quite large, they don't have to do deals to sell them.

Having said that though, the rush of sales has now steadied so who knows? Soon they might be doing good deals on new ones.

Well I got a discount on mine! Was worth a few thou in my pocket rather than Jubilee, Brad Garlick or Dale Fords'.

I bought my last car (AUII XR8) and my new 'T' from Peter Warren Smithfield and both the sales and service teams have been awesome. I had a few issues on the XR8 and they were fixed ASAP with no complaints or problems. I will happily recommend them to anyone I know for a good experience on both ends of the deal.

Regards
