Yes Plonky ... good bloke Tony. Trouble is when you need to get it serviced. Buy the car wherever it's cheapest but hope like hell your nearby dealer has a decent service dept.

There are always lots of complaints about Sydney dealerships when it comes to service. A lot depends on how you "click" with the personnel - there are some who may take an instant like or dislike to you and your car suffers if they don't like you. Just try to be pleasant and act like you don't know very much. They don't like being told what is wrong, just report "this noise" or "that act" and let them diagnose. When you discover you actually do know more about your car than they do this becomes rather difficult so then what you have to do is try to make your points in a back to front kind of way so you don't offend them. For instace you say you know someone with a similar car and it did "this" and they found it was "that" which caused it, and then you ask innocently "so do you think that could be the problem with mine as well?" If you go in gung-ho and act like you know everything and tell them what they have to do it's "goodnight dick".

I wasn't overly impressed by the Sinclair Ford dealership in Penrith, my closest dealer, when I stopped by there a couple of weekends ago.

The T is the second new Ford I have bought from Sinclair Ford and I have to say they have gone downhill since Ford took control from Ross Sinclair. They were average up untill the time we signed on the dotted line and then went downhill from there.

I found their service department to be utterly hopeless (IMO) throughout the ownership of my previous XR8, and bought the T with the intention of having it serviced elsewhere.

I will not be buying a third new car from them.

I am another happy camper at City Ford. Didnt buy the car there, but after crap service from the dealer I bought it from (in Wollongong), I started going to City Ford, simply because its near my Sydney office.

Ian in the service department is great, and I have no complaints at all about their work or attitude.

I will be shopping there first when it comes time for replacement, simply because the service department treats me like a respected customer.

Purchased my Futura 3 years ago through Peter Warren Warwick Farm.

Purchased my XR6T last year through Peter Warren Warwick Farm.

I will continue to use them for Servicing...have always found them helpful and friendly.

However, I suspect I will look at other dealers if I ever need to purchase another car.

Excellent customer focus from the Service Dept at Alto Ford Artarmon but I was far from satisfied with the sales staff

Yes this thread will remain open.

I purchased my car from City Ford as well.. fantastic group of guys, they look after you and share a common interest in what we do as a site as well. Michael from City Ford brought a GT on our last country style cruise.. was awesome..

I would highly recommend them.. will buy from them again!

City Ford have treated me well also

Trumpy,

without mentioning names, I know 2 dealers in Wollongong, which gave you poor service? North or South?
